The Golden Bears Hockey Alumni
2004 N.H.L. Playoffs Hockey Draft
Monday, June 7, 2004
-
As predicted after Saturday nights game, the NHL 2004 hockey playoffs came to an end tonight with Tampa Bay winning
the Stanley Cup. The Golden Bear hockey alumni congratulates both Tampa Bay and Calgary for a very even, hard fought
series. It would have been nice to have the cup back in Alberta but maybe next year both Calgary and Edmonton
will be contestants in the Stanley Cup playoffs and Calgary certainly showed that once you make the playoffs, a hot
goaltender, hard work and a couple of bounces can make any team a potential Stanley Cup winner.
Tonights standings will be final, subject to correction but the gaming regulations require that the standings are
advertised and that there is a waiting period before the final payout. Congratulations to Gord B and to the other
winners in this years playoff draft.
As soon as the detail listing is entered, check for errors and if you find any
please email me at bobmarik@shaw.ca since many of the faxed in tickets were difficult to read clearly.
The results of this years entries will be posted as soon as I have entered this years draft entries into the database.
This usually takes roughly until the end of the first round. I may post the scoring and a partial list of the entrants
before completing all the draft forms but if so, I will make note that it is an imcomplete listing.
Notes for completing next years draft forms:
Each year a number of forms are completed with players chosen more than once. In these cases, I try to determine
which players they meant to enter where the numbers listed on the right hand side (these are the numbers I enter)
differ from the players circled or marked on the left side. To avoid this, use the left side as your worksheet
circling those players you wish to choose (cross them out if you change your mind) and count them until you have
the 25 players you wish to enter. Then enter them in numerical order on the right hand side. This makes it
almost impossible to enter a number twice without noticing it.
Please note that clicking on a ticket number from the draft standings to get the team detail may appear to be in
error at first but does display the correct ticket second. Due to the method used, a file of 100 tickets is opened and
the first ticket in that file is displayed first, then the selected ticket. eg. clicking on #259 will open the 200 file
and display #201 first; it will then jump to #259. On a slower modem this may take a few seconds so please be patient.
